| Dwight Shook is a conservative
businessman and family man. His wife and two daughters live in
Taylorsville where they are active members of Taylorsville Church of
God, where Dwight serves as Sunday School Superintendent. His entire career has been focused on doing what's right for his family, his community and the State of North Carolina. Like the majority of North Carolinians he comes from a modest background. He knows what it is like to punch a time clock. He knows what it is like to put in an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. Growing up he learned the value of hard work and community service from his family. Dwight has served on the Alexander County Board of Heath and he is the current Chairman of the Western Piedmont Council of Governments Sister Cities Association. He has been a long-time Republican activist. He has been active in many campaigns including: President George W. Bush, Senator Richard Burr, Senator Elizabeth Dole, and Congresswoman Virginia Foxx. Dwight is the former Alexander County Republican Party Secretary and he is the immediate past Chairman of the Alexander County Republican Party. Currently, Dwight is an adjunct business instructor at Catawba Valley Community College and Mitchell Community College where he enjoys teaching the next generation of business leaders. Dwight is a graduate of the Business School at Gardner-Webb University and holds a Masters in Business Administration. He is a licensed NC Real Estate Broker and a Member of the Institute of Business Appraisers. |
